Foster Road Shooting Sends Man to Hospital 2019
Las Cruces police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening inside a barbershop and critically injured a 40-year-old man.
The victim received a gunshot wound to his chest and is in critical condition at Mountainview Regional Medical Center.
About 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 4, police were dispatched to the report of a gunshot victim at Mountainview. The victim had been transported there by private vehicle. Officers learned the victim had a gunshot wound to his chest and was in critical condition.
Officers learned the shooting occurred at a barbershop on the 1200 block of Foster Road. Investigators believe the victim got into some type of dispute with a man believed to be in his early 20s. At some point, the suspect brandished a handgun and fired at least one round that struck the victim.
The suspect fled the barbershop and has not been seen since.
Investigators believe the suspect is Hispanic, approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall with a thin build, bald with multiple tattoos on both arms and his upper chest area.
