Terri Gayhart is the City’s New Director of Financial Services 2019

City Manager Stuart C. Ed today announced the selection of Terri Gayhart as the new director of financial services for the City of Las Cruces. Gayhart has more than 20 years of experience in all phases of financial operations and is expected to start with the City on March 25th.

“We are indeed fortunate to have someone of the caliber, education and experience as Ms. Gayhart,” Ed said. “As we continue to improve our internal processes, procurement systems, and financial functions, her exceptional credentials and leadership will be critical.”

Gayhart has experience as a finance director for two municipalities in Wisconsin; the Village of Mount Pleasant and the City of Burlington. She has served as controller of the Milwaukee Area Technical College, which has an enrollment of 51,713 students. More recently, she has served as finance director for the City of Odessa, Texas, since November 2015.

“I very much like that the City of Las Cruces is progressive as demonstrated by its many aggressive accomplishments such as plans to expand the Regional Aquatic Center and Animal Service Center,” Gayhart said. “I am also impressed with the City’s economic development efforts such as the revitalized Downtown, and I am a huge advocate of government transparency.”

Gayhart has an MBA in Public Administration. She also is a certified public accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
