Google Maps adds RoadRUNNER Transit to App 2019

The Mesilla Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) announces that customers of RoadRUNNER Transit can now plan their trips using the Google Maps/Transit app. It is easily accessible on mobile devices or computers through a downloadable app or by browser.

Google Maps can find the riders suggested routes on RoadRUNNER by departure/arrival time, RoadRUNNER Transit route(s), number and number/locations of stops along the way by simply typing in a beginning and ending location. The Google Maps app can also find routes, times, stops on SCRTD, NMDOT Park and Ride Routes and EL Paso transit routes, which connect with RoadRUNNER Transit if the user is going beyond the RoadRUNNER Transit service area.

“We are very excited to be able to offer this service to the community,” said Andrew Wray, acting MPO officer. “We’ve been working with Google Maps to add RoadRUNNER Transit to their system in anticipation of RoadRUNNER’s expanded service.”

The Mesilla Valley MPO is the multi-jurisdictional planning agency responsible for transportation planning for the Las Cruces urbanized area in central Doña Ana County.
